YSU volleyball coaches announce summer camp schedule

The Youngstown State volleyball coaching staff will offer nine different on-campus camps in July for players to develop their skills, the YSU head coach said. Aline Scott announcement.

The Penguins will offer two team camps, two all-skills camps and five camps dedicated to improving a specific area of ​​a player’s game. The camps will take place from July 6 to 16. Registration information is available at PenguinsVolleyballCamps.com.

Distribution of camps

Team Camps

July 9: All Day Game 1 – Registration and details | Notes: 9-12 | Time: 9am – 6pm | Cost: $250 per team
July 16: All Day Game 2 – Registration and details | | Notes: 9-12 | Time: 9am – 6pm | Cost: $250 per team

Each team will play a minimum of five games. The games will be the best 2 out of 3.

All skills camps

July 6-8: Junior Penguins All Skills Camp | Registration and details | Notes: 1-5 | Time: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. | Cost: $100

This is a three day camp designed to teach all basic skills through drills and competitions. No prior experience is necessary. Hydration stations will be provided, but campers are advised to bring their own water.

July 6-8: Penguins Skills Camp | Registration and details | Notes: 6-12 | Hours for July 6 and 7: 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. | July 8 time: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. | Cost: $225

This is a three-day camp designed for players who wish to compete for college or high school teams. All skills will be covered through drills and play situations. There will be a one hour lunch break from 12:00pm to 1:00pm on Tuesday and Wednesday, so campers should bring lunch. Hydration stations will be provided, but campers are advised to bring their own water.

Specialization camps

July 6-7: Serve Camp 1 | Registration and details | Notes: 3-12 | Time: 6-7.30 p.m. | Cost: $60

This is a two-day camp designed for players of all skill levels and ages. Campers will spend two nights learning the basics of the overhand serve with confidence. No prior experience is necessary. Hydration stations will be provided, but campers are advised to bring their own water.

July 12: Camp Passing & Digging | Registration and details | Notes: 6-12 | Time: 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. | Cost: $75

This is a one-day camp designed for players of all skill levels to learn proper passing and digging techniques. No prior experience is necessary. There will be a one hour lunch break from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., so campers should bring a lunch. Hydration stations will be provided, but campers are advised to bring their own water.

July 13: Setting up camp | Registration and details | Notes: 6-12 | Time: 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. | Cost: $75

The Setting Camp is a one-day session designed for players of all skill levels to learn and improve proper setting technique, footwork and mechanics. No prior experience is necessary. There will be a one hour lunch break from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., so campers should bring a lunch. Hydration stations will be provided, but campers are advised to bring their own water.
