Minnesota High School Volleyball Rankings This Week

It was a very exciting start to the volleyball season, and Southeast Minnesota was once again well represented in this week’s volleyball standings.

There was a small shift at the top of one of the rankings, while the other three remained stable. Mayer Lutheran (Class A), Pequot Lakes (Class AA) and Marshall (Class AAA) all remained at No. 1 this week. Northfield (AAAA class) jumped from 6th to 1st place after another impressive week on the pitch.

Minnesota Class A High School Volleyball Rankings

Section 1 is a Class A volleyball battle with four teams still in the Top 10 this week. Bethlehem Academy, Mabel-Canton and Spring Grove were ranked the same as last week, while Kenyon-Wanamingo fell one place from 6th to 7th place.

Last week, Mayer Lutheran beat #3 Bethlehem Academy 3-0 (25-18, 25-13, 25-23). The Cardinals have another tough job this week as they take on #7 Kenyon-Wanamingo on Tuesday night in Gopher Conference action.

Minnesota Class AA Volleyball Rankings

Three Southeast Minnesota teams are ranked in the Top this week. Zumbrota-Mazeppa dropped from 2nd to 4th place after falling at Cannon Falls last week. The big win helped lift Cannon Falls from No. 9 to No. 8.

Caledonia also fell from 10th to 9th place. The Warriors and Bombers meet Monday night in Cannon Falls. Chatfield also appeared on a ballot after picking up five wins last week, including over Rushford-Peterson and Dover-Eyota in the Three Rivers conference and three tournament wins over the weekend.

Class AAA Minnesota High School Volleyball Rankings

Three Division 1 teams remain in the Top 5 of the Class AAA state volleyball rankings as Kasson-Mantorville remained No. 2. Stewartville dropped from No. 3 to No. 4 after a loss to No. 9 in Class AAAA Rochester Mayo and a weekend tournament loss to Centennial. Byron moved from 5th to 4th place (tied with Stewartville).

The Bears and Tigers meet in Byron on Tuesday night as part of the HVL conference.

AAAA Minnesota High School Volleyball Rankings

Section 1 was once again well represented with Northfield climbing from No. 6 to No. 1 after another terrific week of volleyball. The Raiders are 9-0 and beat No. 12 Lakeville South, No. 7 Chaska, No. 1 Wayzata and No. 5 Lakeville North in a tournament at Marshall over the weekend.

Lakeville North moved to 3rd place and Lakeville South to 10th place in the standings. Rochester Mayo dropped out of the Top 10 and landed in 11th place this week.
