PHILADELPHIA CREAM – The head coach Linda Hampton-Keith announced Thursday that Nalani McBride would be the newest addition to the Temple’s women’s volleyball program for the 2022 season.
“Nalani joining us this fall continues the upward trajectory of our program. She will add depth and skills to her position that will enhance our defense and our ability to compete at a high level,” Hampton-Keith said. “We are delighted to welcome the new owl to our nest!”
McBride, soon to graduate from Mountain View High School in Stafford, Va., averaged 395 digs per season over four years, and last season rose to the top of the MV record books by becoming the leader of her career. with 1,581 digs. She capped off her senior season by leading Mountain View to the Commonwealth 5A District Championship with a 27-1 record.
Along with being the Wildcat’s career leader in digs, McBride had 460 assists, 158 aces, and 137 kills in his four seasons. With her outstanding play, she would earn First Team All-Region 5D, First Team Commonwealth District 5A, Second Team All-State, Freelance Star All-Area, and Libero of the Year.
Although McBride was a terrific volleyball player at Mountain View, she also excelled in class, adding the Presidential Achievement Award to her resume.
