The Housing Development Corporation (HDC) opened a new volleyball court in Hulhumale and started a volleyball camp to train young players for the sport.
The ‘My Hulhumale’ Volleyball Camp 2022′ will be held at the new volleyball court near the Fiyavathi Orphanage in Hulhumale’. The camp is for children aged 10-16. The camp provides basic and advanced volleyball training for children of both genders.
HDC said basic training will be provided for children completely new to volleyball, while the advanced course is designed to provide additional training for students who completed basic skills at camp last year.
A total of 100 children attended this year’s camp. HDC has decided to organize a one-day volleyball competition among the students attending the two-week camp.
HDC said there were a large number of people who wanted to play volleyball in Hulhumale”. The volleyball court was officially opened during a ceremony organized to inaugurate the camp last Saturday.
The volleyball camp was officially opened by HDC’s Chief Operating Officer, Shathir Abdul Rahman.
The volleyball camp is conducted under the supervision of the assistant coach of the Maldives national volleyball team, Mohamed Sajid.
