HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) – Two Hastings residents are behind bars for child abuse after police found a controlled substance inside their home.

At approximately 1:30 p.m. Friday, the Hastings Police Department was called to the 1000 block of West Fifth Street to a man and young woman believed to be looking out of a neighbor’s window.

Upon arrival, police began to suspect the male suspect was under the influence, leading officers to carry out a wellness check.

Officers then searched the home of Creighton Crosby, 31, and Jessica Dunbar, 29, in the 400 block of North Bellevue Ave. There they found less than a gram of suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Crosby and Dunbar were both arrested for possession of a controlled substance, child abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia.

HPD Cpl. Nathan Hanson told Local4 News that the minor who lived in the house was removed from the residence by the Department of Health and Human Services.
