IN DRAFT: Eastern Illinois hosts its first conference weekend series against Southeast Missouri this weekend after traveling to Murray State and UT Martin the past two weekends. Games will take place Friday, October 8 at 6 p.m. and Saturday, October 9 at 4 p.m. at Lantz Arena. EIU is looking to pick up its first conference win of the season.

ALL-TIME SERIES: The Panthers are currently losing the all-time series to SEMO, 18-40. Their last meeting was in the condensed 2020 season earlier this year when EIU lost 0-3 to the Redhawks. SEMO currently has a seven-game winning streak against the Panthers.

OVC UPDATE: This marks the third week of conference play for the Ohio Valley Conference. Austin Peay is now in sole possession of the top spot in the OVC at 4-0. Eastern Illinois is looking to win its first conference game against SEMO and is currently in tenth place. Southeast Missouri is currently 3-2 in conference after beating Belmont twice and Tennessee State once. They currently rank fourth in the OVC with an overall record of 12-5.

INDIVIDUAL OVC LEADERS: Kameryn Sillmon takes the top spot with a .319 hit percentage after its weekend games against UT Martin. Emilie Wilcox is right behind her with a .310 hitting percentage and is second. Lorraine Perez continues his streak at the top of service ace percentage in the OVC averaging 0.41 per set. Kylie Michel is second in this category with an average of 0.37. EIU also leads the conference in service ace per set with an average of 1.88.

DOUBLE-DIGIT KILLS: EIU had 53 kills in Tuesday’s match against SIUE, with 13 coming from Ella Collins and 12 from Danielle Allen. It was the fourth time for Collins to record double-digit wins this season, and it is her third-biggest win in a game all season. Allen has recorded seven double-digit eliminations this season, leading the team with 153 eliminations.

FOLLOWING : Eastern Illinois travels to Nashville, Tennessee next weekend to play the Belmont University Bruins after their home games against Southeast Missouri. These games will take place on Friday, October 15 at 6 p.m. and Saturday, October 16 at 4 p.m.



THE HEAD COACH: Sarah Thomas enters his second season as head coach of Eastern Illinois and marks his first full season at the helm. Thomas is assisted by Manolo Concepcion and Ana Paula Zandona. The Panthers are looking to consolidate their 2-14 record from last season in a condensed COVID-19 season.
