NAPERVILLE, Ill. — The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) announced the recipients of the Spring 2022 Dave Wrath and Jack Swartz University Lecture Award. North Park student-athletes represented 58 of those selected to the conference’s academic team.
The Dave Wrath Academic All-Conference list includes individuals who have achieved a GPA of 3.30 or higher and have served at least one year in residence at their respective school. More than 800 names were recognized during the spring 2022 season.
The Dave Wrath Academic All-Conference Award is named after the former Augustana College athletic administrator. Wrath retired in June 2021 as associate athletic director for media and alumni relations, serving the Vikings for 40 years. In addition to his duties at Augustana, Wrath was Director of Sports Information for the CCIW from 1996 to 2005 and was instrumental in setting the academic agenda for all CCIW conferences in 2005.

Additionally, CCEI announced all the recipients of the Jack Swartz Academic All-Conference Award. Each CCEI member institution selects two student-athletes (one male athlete and one female athlete) from each of the three athletic seasons (fall, winter, spring) to be honored as members of the Jack Swartz Academic All-Conference. To be eligible, an individual must have an overall grade point average of 3.50 or higher and have served at least one year in residency at their respective institution.
The Jack Swartz Academic All-Conference Award is named after the former Wheaton College Athletic Director and CCIW Commissioner. Spring 2022 Highlights: CCIW Baseball Student-Athlete of the Year… All-CCIW First-Team Recipient… Baseball Coaches Association of America (ABCA) All-Region Second-Team… D3baseball.com All-Region Third-Team… led the Vikings in hits (54), home runs (9), total bases (96), slugging percentage (.600) and RBI (47).. also had 11 doubles, 39 runs and four stolen bases.
