2.A. OVERPRINTED PUBLIC ISSUE CARDS
Strictly speaking they aren't a separate category - the original card is in fact a public issue with code 110-007. It is a definitive pastel-coloured card produced between 1985 and 1992 (or thereabouts), and often available from vending machines. For some reason, rather than buying "white" cards for printing, the 110-007 cards became particularly popular as the base for gold-leaf printing. So although they were bought and printed like "white" cards, they are in fact an overprint of the definitive cards. You will notice that there is no NTT logo on these cards: this is because it was on the front of the card but has been printed over !
