| During last year I presented in this space the twelve oldest Volleyball stamps and interesting covers showing them. This year I am going to show different philatelic items showing our favourite sport. In this month of JANUARY we start with LOCAL STAMPS. You can find all known local Volleyball stamps in its specific section, or you can get there clicking here: LOCAL STAMPS. | |

We start with an issue from the private German post company PIN AG. This company issued a Volleyball stamp and a souvenir sheet containing four stamps on April 11, 2005. I can show First Day cards of both issues, with their respective First Day Cancel. |

And I can also show some postally used covers, the first two with local use (in Germany). |

| Compared to the postage rate of the official German post you can send letters with PIN AG at a reduced rate of € 0.48. | |
|
And here are two letters sent from Germany to Austria. |

| Since PIN AG, being a private carrier, cannot operate on the international post market, letters to international destination have to go through other carries. In the first case the letter was transported by a Belgian company, in the second case by a Dutch TPG post company. | |

We continue with a local issue from the Swedish island of Gotland. A Volleyball stamp was issued in 1999, and I can show a postally used cover. |

| Stamps from the island of Gotland can be used on local post on the island itself or for postage to the mainland. | |

And the last of the three local posts I present in this month comes from the Netherlands. The corresponding stamp was issued by RONDOM POST (which has stopped operating some years ago). This stamp was issued in Octiber of 1996 and shows Olympic Gold Medal Winners Jan Posthuma (l) and Olof van der Meulen (r). |
