G E R M A N Y - LOCAL POST
In April of this year (2005) a new local stamp was issued by the German local post company PIN AG. Covers with these stamps usually are very rare, so it is with pleasure that I can show you two of them here as the ITEM OF THE MONTH OF JULY. Here is the first one:
It was posted on April 19, 2005 (eight days after the first day of issue of this local stamp) and was sent to an address somewhere in Germany. Unfortunately we do not know where it was sent to due to the type of cover that was used. Here is the second (and definitely more interesting) example:
Sent from Berlin, Germany, on May 24, 2005 to my Austrian address, it was franked with three local stamps with a value of 50 cent each, and the Volleyball stamp with a value of 48 cents. It was registered (as you can see from the white label). Due to the character of this cover (it seems to be an entire from a Dutch post company) it seems that PIN AG co-operates with this Dutch company (TPG Post at Schiphol airport) when it comes to international deliveries.
